It is immense satisfaction and warmest gratitude that I feel today upon receiving the "Outstanding Contributors" Award in the 10th Anniversary of CTG International. I'm specially thankful to CTGI for its continued support and unwavering trust for appointing me CEO of CTG Europe during such a significant period of development and progress of the company. I will continue doing my best to deliver on the very high expectations, being the first local CEO for China Three Gorges Corporation in the history for its wholly-owned overseas subsidiary.

Looking back over the past 10 years’ cooperation, this experience has brought me not only familiarity with the business and a high degree of value recognition and consensus on strategic goals with the company, but more importantly very strong respect for Chinese culture and business standards and loyalty to CTG which I now consider part of my family.

I am very proud to say that I not only assisted but also contributed to the foundation of CTGI 10 years ago when CTG completed its first overseas investment. At that time, I was a business partner of CTG but could already witnessed the determination and potential of the Company. A company with a very clear and well thought out strategy focused on clean energy development. The strategic view of the Company anticipated several years what then has become the key sector theme globally: renewables being at the center of the energy transition models across the globe.

This initial contact with CTG and its visionary leadership and determined management, marked my professional career that since then has been intimately linked to the development of CTGI, becoming earlier this year the proud CEO of CTGE.

The European energy market, typically at the forefront of the sector structural changes in the past, is recently going through significant challenges in a context of decarbonization of the economy and electrification of the demand. Surging global commodities prices, have been pushing up electricity prices at an unprecedented level and creating a challenging and complex situation for European economies and industries, which are intensive in the use of electricity and reliant on competitive power prices. European governments and the EU itself have reinforced the conviction and commitment with the fast development of renewables as the way to ensure energy independence (from largely imported fossil fuels) and reliable and competitive power supply. Similarly, efforts to improve visibility of regulatory frameworks and administrative authorization procedures have increased to provide stability and visibility to attract the so much needed investments in the sector.

CTGE is currently present in Portugal, through EDP, Spain where CTGE is becoming one of the top renewable’s players in the country, Germany where we are actively looking to improve our business portfolio in the country, Greece and UK,etc.. Solar and offshore wind will be the key drivers of our strategy in the coming years, where greenfield development is expected to take a more predominant role in an effort to deliver superior returns with a controlled risk approach.

Health and Safety will remain critical elements on our operations where CTGE aims at maintaining best in class industry standards.

In the future, CTG Europe will continue maintaining a fluid communication with CTGI and we will spare no effort to achieve our brand value, carry out social responsibility projects and spread corporate culture, establishing a positive corporate image of China Three Gorges in Europe.

The 10th anniversary of CTGI is a truly remarkable milestone for the company. It is also another starting point of a new journey. I look forward to working closely with all the employees and the company’s management team as we continue to execute our ambitious strategy and build on the positive momentum already underway at CTG Europe.
